First-place Winning High School Project Compares Traditionally Thermally Cured Epoxy-amine Kevlar Composites vs. Ultra-Violet Cured

Two Pine Belt high school students are headed to the International Science and Engineering Fair in Pittsburgh.

Hattiesburg High School senior De’Andre Stafford-May took first place overall at the University of Southern Mississippi’s Region 1 Science and Engineering Fair earlier this month. He also won first place in chemistry, as well as the Army, Navy and Air Force Medals of Accomplishment.

Oak Grove High School senior Nickolas Whitehead won second place in biochemistry and was the Region 1 finalist. He also won Army and Navy Medals of Accomplishment.
