Currently, there are two UV lamp technologies available to the industry: mercury vapor and fluorescent lamps. Mercury vapor lamps deliver bright, visible light along with a moderate amount of UV intensity to a small area. |
By contrast, special fluorescent lamp designs illuminate larger areas, but usually with a lower intensity of UV than the mercury vapor lights produce. One advantage of the special fluorescent lamps is that they can be quickly cycled on and off, while mercury vapor lights require some time to warm up and fully illuminate. Consult the paint manufacturer’s Technical Data Sheet for UV lamp recommendations. |
