| Even though the UV paint curing process is faster than curing 2K paints with IR lamps, there is no risk of deforming or melting plastic parts such as bumper covers or trim pieces because they become too hot. UV curing lamps do generate some heat, but the part being illuminated does not significantly heat up when the lamp is positioned at the correct distance from the paint surface. |  |
