Register Online: UV/EB Chemistry Fundamentals, a 10-Minute Course
Over eight weeks we will email you a weekly lesson that should take you roughly ten minutes to read through. At the end of the eight lessons, we will email a course certification that you can post on your LinkedIn profile.
The lessons are as follows:
Lesson #1: What Is UV/EB Curing?
Lesson #2:Basic Chemistry of UV Curing
Lesson #3:Basic Materials Used in UV/EB Curing
Lesson #4:How Do Photoinitiators Work?
Lesson #5: Equipment Used in UV/EB Curing
Lesson #6:Environmental Handling & Safety
Lesson #7:Graphic Arts Applications
Lesson #8: Industrial Applications
This course was developed by Dr. Michael Idacavage with Colorado Photopolymer Solutions. Mike received his B.S. (Chemistry) from Drexel University in 1975 and his Ph.D. from Syracuse University in 1979 (Organometallic Chemistry). Mike worked in the area of radiation curing started at Eastman Kodak with the establishment of a photopolymer lab in 1985 and has continued in Energy Curable technology in various roles and companies since then. Mike has participated in the industry as a raw material provider (Global R&D Director for UV curing for UCB/Cytec), Formulator (CPS) and end user (NAPP Systems). Mike has served as President of RadTech North America for the 2009 to 2010 term. Currently, Mike is the Vice President of Business Development for Colorado Photopolymer Solutions. Mike is also an Adjunct Associate Professor at SUNY-ESF in Syracuse, NY teaching courses in UV and EB curing technology and UV curable 3D Printing.
