November 15, 2023, 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM EST
Webinar Overview:
Structural color is a unique phenomenon that doesn’t rely on pigments or dyes to impart coloration to a surface. It emerges from the interaction of light with the physical structure of an object containing microscopic repeating layers or patterns. This phenomenon is naturally occurring with many biological and geological examples. An emerging approach pioneered by Cypris Materials to create structural color uses the natural phenomenon of self-assembly and an architecturally unique copolymer formulated as an UV curable ink or paint to create coatings with the requisite multi-layer structure.
Join us to learn more about the benefits of this bio-inspired technology which include reduced carbon footprint by eliminating the need for traditional colorants, a recycle friendly metal free design, a full palette of highly chromatic colors based on common raw materials and the potential to achieve special effects in digital printing.
